PET Imaging Institute was founded with the mission of providing the finest outpatient diagnostic imaging for cancer patients. Over time, the use of PET scans has broadened to include applications beyond oncology. The combination of our expert Radiologists/Medical Directors, state-of-the-art equipment, ultrafast turnaround on reports, a comfortable spa-like environment combined with our highly-experienced and helpful staff come together to provide the highest quality PET/CT scan experience in the region.

With that philosophy top of mind, our staff works alongside referring physicians to assist and guide navigation of the nuances of managed care (insurance) guidelines and authorization processes. PET Imaging Institute and our related businesses are dedicated to providing the best quality care possible for all patients. We do this by specializing exclusively in PET/CT imaging and working only with radiologists who have undergone extensive training and are experts in PET/CT.
The Evolution and Expansion of PET Imaging Institute
The PET Imaging Institute team has founded and managed multiple practices over the years, starting with Columbia University’s Kreitchman PET Center in 1995, followed by Metro Region PET in Annandale, Virginia in 1998 in partnership with Woodburn Nuclear Medicine.
After that time, we established multiple practices under the PET Imaging Institute brand, starting with PET Imaging Institute of South Florida in Hollywood, Florida in 2000. Over the years we have had practices in New Jersey (PET Imaging Institute of New Jersey) and Arizona (PET Imaging at CDR – in cooperation with the CDR practice, also known as PET Imaging Institute of Phoenix), along with other extensions of the PET Imaging.
